AMPI discontinues production at South Dakota plant

NEW ULM, MINN. (Jan. 12, 2024) – Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) announced today it will discontinue production at its Hoven, S.D., cheese plant. Company leaders said the decision stems from declining sales.

AMPI is working with employees to provide access to resources, training and opportunities to apply for jobs at other AMPI facilities.

Milk from the member farms previously processed at the Hoven plant will be routed to other plants in the surrounding area.

AMPI continues to explore options for the facility’s future.
