Tastad leading member services, manufacturing in Minnesota division
NEW ULM, Minn. (Aug. 17, 2009) – Mark Tastad, a 17-year Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) employee, is the new manager of the Midwest milk marketing cooperative’s Dawson Division based in Dawson, Minn.
Tastad replaces Matt Quade who managed two AMPI divisions—Dawson and the Paynesville, Minn., division—for the past year. Quade continues as the Paynesville Division manager, a position he has held for more than 10 years.
As division manager, Tastad manages AMPI’s dairy product manufacturing plant in Dawson. He also supervises member services for AMPI’s dairy farmer-owners who ship milk to the plant from farms in western Minnesota and northeast South Dakota.
Tastad is returning to AMPI following two years of work in the insurance and investment business. A graduate of North Dakota State University, Tastad began working at AMPI’s Dawson plant in 1990. He was promoted to superintendent of the manufacturing facility’s aseptic department in 1992 where he remained until 2007.
“Mark understands the milk marketing business well. He also brings to the position a deep knowledge of the Dawson manufacturing facility’s operations, its employees and the AMPI members who market milk through the plant,” said AMPI President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Welch. “His experience and knowledge will serve the dairy farmer-owners of AMPI well.” |
