Better with butter
More than 100 AMPI Young Cooperators (YCs) and their families participated in the "Better with butter" summer educational tour held in New Ulm, Minn., June 29-30. The gathering is one of many educational events available through the YC program, open to AMPI members age 40 and under.
This year's tour featured:
• the AMPI butter plant in New Ulm, Minn
• recently constructed facilities at Olmar Farms, an AMPI-member farm near Sleepy Eye, Minn
• a Farm FunFest for children, with educational programming provided by the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial FFA Chapter
• question-and-answer session with the AMPI management team
"We are proud to be part of the AMPI Young Cooperator program," said David Trott, AMPI YC chairperson and a dairy farmer from Ladysmith, Wis. "It provides an opportunity for young AMPI members-owners to take a more active orle in the dairy marketing business we own."
For more information about the YC program, contact an AMPI division office or field representative.
